Fastest Overall in Townsville on the New SCOTT Gambler RC

Mackay Cycles / SCOTT brand ambassador Jackson McPherson had a great finish to the Townsville downhill series, taking 1st place in Under 19s and setting the fastest overall time of the day at the final round last weekend.

Loose, Fast and Rough

Townsville delivered exactly the sort of track Jackson expected — loose, fast and rough, with some big jumps and key rock garden sections making it important to stay committed and pick the right lines.

First Race Test on the New SCOTT Gambler RC

Jackson's bike for the weekend was the new SCOTT Gambler RC, and it was an impressive first test in proper race conditions.

The Gambler handled the rough and loose Townsville terrain exceptionally well throughout the day. It stayed composed through the faster sections, gave Jackson plenty of confidence through the rocks and worked perfectly when the track started getting loose.

A Strong Finish to the Series

Jackson couldn't have asked for a much better result from the weekend — Under 19 winner and fastest rider overall, with a bike setup that worked perfectly for the conditions.
