Mackay Cycles is incredibly proud to celebrate an outstanding week of racing for Max Teague at the 2026 GWM Mountain Bike National Championships in Mt Buller, Victoria.

Gold in the Junior Team Relay

Thursday’s opening cross-country action saw Max line up in the XCR – Junior Team alongside Benjamin Swan, Sylvia Dagg and Austin Trotter. The team delivered a dominant performance to take the win and open the championships in style.

It was the perfect way to start the week and showed the strength, composure and form Max has brought into nationals.

A Huge Ride at Nationals

To win at a championship like this takes far more than speed. It takes preparation, confidence, race craft and the ability to deliver when it matters most.

Max has done exactly that at Mt Buller, racing with confidence and composure against the best young riders in the country.
