2026 Mackay Track Open: Results, Photos and a Big Night for Max Teague
The 2026 Mackay Track Open lit up the Walkerston Velodrome on Saturday 31 October. 31 riders from Mackay, Townsville, Cairns, Rockhampton, Brisbane and Cootamundra raced 24 races for over $4,500 in prizes, finishing under lights with the Wright Family Shield wheelraces and the Invitational Keirin.
Mackay Cycles was proud to back the junior races again this year, alongside major sponsor Pirtek, Golding, Blacks Real Estate and Fitness Cartel.

Rory Fisk Takes the Treble
Brisbane's Rory Fisk (University of Queensland Cycling Club) was the rider of the night, winning the A Grade scratch race, the Senior Wright Family Shield and the Invitational Keirin. In the Keirin final he finished ahead of Josh Rayner (Cairns) and Kiah Dumigan (Mackay).

Max Teague Mixes It With the Seniors
Mackay Cycles ambassador Max Teague stepped up this year, racing B Grade and the senior handicap against the adults while sticking to his junior gear limits. It paid off: Max finished 3rd in the Senior Wright Family Shield, won the B Grade points score and took out the U15/17 Keirin.
