Caffélatex tyre sealant is quietly hiding in the wheels of the best cyclists in the World, who trust it to ride as puncture-free as possible. With a strong racing background in road and off-road cycling, Caffélatex is perfect for tubeless, tubular and inner-tube applications.
A secret blend of liquid synthetic polymers gives Caffélatex its “latex-like” behavior, becoming solid when exposed to fast evaporation, repairing holes in the process. We improved this with the addition of a precise percentage of microscopic (less than 2 microns, 0,002 mm) silicate particles, so that Caffélatex moves slowly through holes, allowing it more time to heal the puncture.
FEATURES:

- Adds very little weight to wheels, following the suggested quantities (see iCaffelatex app).
- Its foaming behavior makes it spread evenly inside tyres, covering the whole internal surface very efficiently.
- Caffélatex doesn’t contain ammonia or other aggressive chemicals and is not toxic.
- Relying on synthetic latex, Caffélatex doesn’t create allergy issues associated with natural latex.
Puncture repair speed is especially beneficial with lightweight or thin-casing tyres, making Caffélatex ideal for performance-oriented cyclists, for both road and off-road cycling and for tubeless, tubular and inner-tube applications. Caffélatex repairs punctures up to 5 mm (off-road tubeless tyres) and 3 mm (road tubeless tyres).
When engineering Caffélatex and refining its formula, we discovered that providing it with a foaming behavior (passing from liquid to foam when agitated, so activated by wheel movement) was a big plus in terms of ability to spread inside the tyre cavity. When wheels are turning, centrifugal force drives standard liquid sealants against the outer circumference inside the tyre.
Caffélatex, turning into foam, tends to fill the entire internal cavity of the tyre, making Caffélatex available and effective even when the puncture happens on the sidewall. Caffélatex reverts to its liquid state after around 15 minutes of stillness. Compared to other “latex-like” sealants, Caffélatex is a very stable and durable, although its lifespan is heavily influenced by tyre type. Using the recommended quantity for tyre size/type, the expected Caffélatex lifespan is:
- Tubular (or Caffélatex inserted into latex/butyl inner tube): up to 1 year.
- UST Tubeless tyre: 2-6 months.
- Tubeless-ready tyre: 1-4 months.
- Tube-type tyre: 1-3 months.
In the impossibility of knowing the specific conditions (kind of wheel/tyre set-up, tyre sidewall thickness and porosities, external temperature and humidity, bicycle storage conditions…), we recommend checking Caffélatex every 2 months, to make sure it’s liquid and therefore ensures its puncture preventive action.?When dry, Caffélatex-sealed wheels are still air-tight, but Caffélatex won’t actively repair punctures.

Full Shipping Policy
1. General Shipping Information
All online orders are processed and shipped from our Mackay store during normal operating hours (8:30am–5:30pm, Tuesday to Friday). Our goal is to dispatch your order within 24 hours of placement, excluding weekends and public holidays.
Parts, Clothing and Accessories are shipped via Australia Post or other parcel courier. Bicycles, Frame-sets and indoor smart-bike trainers are shipped via specialist bike courier services to ensure they arrive in suitable condition.
2. Warehouse-Supplied Items
Some items on our website are supplied directly from brand warehouses interstate. Where this applies, the product page shows a note such as "Available to Order from [Brand] Warehouse — ships to Mackay Cycles, then ready for Click & Collect or local delivery in approx. 5–7 working days."
These items route through our Mackay store before dispatch, so we can check, pack and freight them properly. Please allow the stated working days for the item to arrive with us before it's dispatched to you.
A small number of items ship direct from the supplier to your address — where that applies, the product page will say so.
3. East Coast Australia Bike Freight
Our $200 flat-rate Bicycle freight, $150 Frame-set freight, and indoor smart-bike freight ($200 Zwift Ride / $400 Wahoo KICKR BIKE), are available to addresses in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania and South Australia. Freight to Western Australia and the Northern Territory is available by quote — please contact us with the item and your address and we will provide a custom quote.
4. Click & Collect at Mackay Cycles
Free in-store pickup is available from 7/8–14 Centurion Drive, Paget QLD 4740. Most online orders are ready within 4 business hours; we'll send a notification when your order is ready to collect. Items not on-floor (typically supplied from interstate warehouses) are not currently available for immediate Click & Collect — they'll be ready for collection once they arrive with us (see Section 2). Click & Collect is available as a separate option at checkout.
5. Freight Insurance
Freight insurance is recommended for shipments valued over $400 and is available on request. Without insurance, claims for damage in transit may not be covered. Contact us before placing your order if you would like insurance added.
6. Custom Orders & Special Requests
We carry over 5,000 products in store and have access to all the major cycling brands. Only a fraction of our range is live on the website. Contact us for special orders, custom builds, quotes and any questions.
