This Hillbilly MTB tire likes it raw. Gravity-focused, excelling in steep, slippery, loose, and wet conditions in the continental north, the all-new Hillbilly is designed specifically to find traction in shifty natural terrain and bring confidence and control to the unpredictable wild. The new tread pattern features an aggressive tread with deep center knobs and high-volume shoulder blocks trio bite through loose soil when cornering. Block-in-block transition knobs reinforce the tire structure and enhance traction when railing through deep loam, gripping rock slabs, or charging over slippery roots. Specialized’s exclusive T9 grip compound elevates the Hillbilly’s traction, enabling it to stick everywhere, even in the greasiest conditions. In addition to its ability to grip in slippery situations, our T9 compound is formulated to bring just the right amount of damping to the backwoods party, reducing tire bounce and deflection to enhance stability and control in challenging conditions. This tubeless-ready trail tire is available in either GRID Trail or GRID Gravity casing, covering trail, all-mountain, enduro, and downhill. GRID Trail’s bead-to-bead protection and stability make it an excellent choice for aggressive riding in rough conditions. GRID Gravity is a burly, two-ply construction designed for durability and puncture protection in extreme conditions, offering incredible strength and exceptional tire stability when loaded hard into corners and compressed into jump faces. Just add sealant as the Hillbilly is a TLR ready clincher for easy mounting and inflation with or without tubes. Spike center knobs to dig in and find traction over loose terrain.

High-damping GRIPTON® T9 compound reduces terrain-induced chatter, rebounds slowly, and has extreme grip in all conditions.

Full Shipping Policy

1. General Shipping Information

All online orders are processed and shipped from our Mackay store during normal operating hours (8:30am–5:30pm, Tuesday to Friday). Our goal is to dispatch your order within 24 hours of placement, excluding weekends and public holidays.

Parts, Clothing and Accessories are shipped via Australia Post or other parcel courier. Bicycles, Frame-sets and indoor smart-bike trainers are shipped via specialist bike courier services to ensure they arrive in suitable condition.

2. Warehouse-Supplied Items

Some items on our website are supplied directly from brand warehouses interstate. Where this applies, the product page shows a note such as "Available to Order from [Brand] Warehouse — ships to Mackay Cycles, then ready for Click & Collect or local delivery in approx. 5–7 working days."

These items route through our Mackay store before dispatch, so we can check, pack and freight them properly. Please allow the stated working days for the item to arrive with us before it's dispatched to you.

A small number of items ship direct from the supplier to your address — where that applies, the product page will say so.

3. East Coast Australia Bike Freight

Our $200 flat-rate Bicycle freight, $150 Frame-set freight, and indoor smart-bike freight ($200 Zwift Ride / $400 Wahoo KICKR BIKE), are available to addresses in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania and South Australia. Freight to Western Australia and the Northern Territory is available by quote — please contact us with the item and your address and we will provide a custom quote.

4. Click & Collect at Mackay Cycles

Free in-store pickup is available from 7/8–14 Centurion Drive, Paget QLD 4740. Most online orders are ready within 4 business hours; we'll send a notification when your order is ready to collect. Items not on-floor (typically supplied from interstate warehouses) are not currently available for immediate Click & Collect — they'll be ready for collection once they arrive with us (see Section 2). Click & Collect is available as a separate option at checkout.

5. Freight Insurance

Freight insurance is recommended for shipments valued over $400 and is available on request. Without insurance, claims for damage in transit may not be covered. Contact us before placing your order if you would like insurance added.

6. Custom Orders & Special Requests

We carry over 5,000 products in store and have access to all the major cycling brands. Only a fraction of our range is live on the website. Contact us for special orders, custom builds, quotes and any questions.
